How we can help you

Our auditors conduct independent investigations into an organization’s financial reports, administration, and processes. The objective is to assess whether this information is accurate, complete, and in accordance with applicable accounting standards. A financial audit is essential for financial transparency and strengthens an organization’s credibility.

Furthermore, we believe that an audit is much more than a legal obligation. It is a powerful tool to create clarity, gain trust, and strengthen your business. Whether you are legally required to undergo an audit, voluntarily seek more insight into your figures, or are considering an acquisition or merger: our audit services provide peace of mind, transparency, and certainty.

Within our audit services, we assess whether your organization’s annual accounts provide a correct and reliable view of the financial reality. Through independent audit procedures, our auditors provide assurance to shareholders, directors, and other stakeholders. This ensures that your financial reporting is transparent, accurate, and fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

Specifically, forensic audit focuses on detecting and investigating financial fraud and misconduct within your organization. Our specialized auditors carefully analyze financial data and documents to detect fraud, embezzlement, or money laundering. In this way, we provide you with certainty regarding the integrity of your financial processes and help you manage risks effectively.

Statutory assignments

At certain milestones within your company, you are legally required to engage a statutory auditor. Are you considering retirement and wish to dissolve your company? Do you want to merge with another company? Or do you wish to transfer part of your own assets to your company? Our statutory auditors are at your service.

We prepare these reports for you:

  • Contributions in kind
  • Dissolution and liquidation
  • Mergers & acquisitions
  • Dissolution and liquidation
  • Conversion of corporate form

ESG audits are designed to assess how well an organization performs in areas related to sustainability, social responsibility, and good governance. ESG audits help companies manage risks, create value, and comply with increasing regulations and stakeholder expectations.

It includes:

  • Compliance: Verification of ESG legislation (such as CSRD) and sectoral standards.
  • Performance: Analysis of environmental impact, social aspects (such as labor rights), and governance (such as transparency and risk management).
  • Risks: Identifying financial, reputational, and operational risks arising from ESG factors.
  • Reporting: Verification of the reliability of ESG data and reports.
  • Assurance: Independent confirmation of ESG information for stakeholders.
  • Improvements: Recommendations to strengthen sustainability and ethics.

Valuing companies as part of an audit involves auditors or financial experts determining the economic value of a company or a part thereof. This process is important for mergers, acquisitions, investments, or restructurings. The goal is to form an objective opinion on the financial value of the company, based on underlying performance, assets, liabilities, and market prospects.

In collaboration with the University of Antwerp, HLB Belgium has developed a tool to value companies in an academically grounded manner.

Due diligence in the context of an audit means a thorough and systematic investigation into the financial, operational, legal, and other aspects of an organization, usually as part of a transaction such as an acquisition, merger, investment, or strategic partnership. The goal is to identify risks, uncover hidden issues, and assess the value and integrity of the organization.
